PROBLEM
To manage, in an efficient and decentralized manner, an increasing volume of content of different formats, referring to the Universidade São Francisco (São Francisco University) and its various campuses on its internet portal. In addition, customized systems, developed internally by the institution, need to be added to the portal quickly and easily.

SOLUTION
Visionnaire WebPublication – solution for content management in a web environment.

RESULTS
With Visionnaire WebPublication, the university can manage in a decentralized way all the vast content of its internet portal. The contents, to be published, go through workflows fully customized by the institution.

Of the most diverse formats (news, downloadable files, images, polls, and many others), the contents are published on the portal without the need for technical knowledge (e.g. HTML) and with strict access control.

TECHNOLOGY
Web environment solution developed in JavaServer Pages (JSP), Java (multiplatform), Extensible Markup Language (XML) and Extensible Stylesheet Language (XSL). Supports the most important databases (Oracle, MySQL and SQLServer). Generated sites are compatible with any webserver.

Detailed problem:
Updates to the Universidade São Francisco (São Francisco University) portal were carried out through a system that did not accept the different types of content that the institution needed to publish on its website. There were no workflows for the publishing process, and the system severely restricted the creation of a personalized visual style.

Detailed solution:
Visionnaire WebPublication, a content management solution, is versatile and allows the publication of content in different formats, such as news, downloadable files, calendars, image galleries, polls, and others.

The use of workflows for content editing, approval and publication prevents inconsistent information from being brought to the portal, as it has become possible to form teams of professionals with specific permissions to manage specific content.

To meet a specific need of the university, Visionnaire developed a component entirely tailored to be implemented in WebPublication, the Norms component, which made it possible to publish academic standards indicating the campus to which they refer, validities and other important information.
