Client
CITS – Centro Internacional de Tecnologia de Software
CITS – Centro Internacional de Tecnologia de Software
Area
Non-Profit Institution
Problem
CITS (Centro Internacional de Tecnologia de Software, Brazilian Portuguese for International Software Technology Center) needed a new institutional portal to better communicate, internally and externally, with its customers and associates, and that was also in line with the new internet guidelines, modern, internationalized and adapted for viewing on mobile phones and tablets.
Solution
Visionnaire, in an agile and collaborative way, developed a new modern portal, using the WebPublication platform, to support the translation of content, and with responsive design. Such tool has a workflow area and approval in the flow of content updates, which allows non-technical collaborators from different areas of CITS to easily update department sites and can generate the sending of newsletter emails intuitively.
Results
Modernity, ease of content updating, new employees updating their departments independently and with control and approval in the flow of updates through workflow, and possibility of sending newsletters through the website itself.
With Visionnaire's work on creating layouts for the new website, and preparing the layout for translation, the new website enabled the dissemination and registration of the various courses offered by CITS both in Curitiba and in Manaus.
Technology
The demand required a CMS because, due to the large volume of information and the need for constant updating, it would not be possible to develop a static website. For this reason, Visionnaire WebPublication was used, which is a CMS for portals of all sizes.
Other technologies used were: integration with other systems through Java language (JEE, currently Jakarta EE), Linux operating system, HTML5, CSS3, Apache Tomcat, XML, XSL, XSLT, JSP, JavaScript/Ajax/DWR, JQuery and bank PostgreSQL data, UML (Unified Modeling Language) modeling, use of MVC standard (Model, View, Controller).
Detailed problem
CITS (Centro Internacional de Tecnologia de Software, Brazilian Portuguese for International Software Technology Center) had an out of date website, so it needed a new portal that was adaptable to tablets and mobile devices to communicate services more efficiently to its customers and associates. It also needed a content approval workflow, since the previous system did not have this control. In addition, it needed the internationalization of its portal.
CITS internally identified the need to improve its communication to the external public and decided to plan the creation of a new institutional portal, modern and updated, unified in a CMS tool. The objective was to manage all CITS sites and subsites and, at the same time, give a different identity to each unit according to their geographic region of operation.
Detailed solution
Visionnaire, a partner of CITS since the time of its foundation and one of the oldest keepers of the institution, was qualified as a provider of the best solution, and quickly developed and put the new portal on the air. The design, content insertion and all technological infrastructure were developed by Visionnaire.
With the CMS solution, the overhead in the IT department has decreased, and the communications department and other departments today have the autonomy to update information for their customers and associates quickly. The tool has a workflow area and approval in the flow of content updates, which allows non-technical collaborators from different areas of CITS to easily update department websites, and generate and send newsletter emails.
All migration and insertion of new content, creation of templates for the newsletter, integration with e-mail marketing tools, setting and installation of the new portal on the hosting server and training regarding the use of the tool for everyone to use was also carried out.
